Mailgun Setup Tutorial

  1. Login to your Mailgun account:


  2. The API URL is usually 'https://api.mailgun.net/v3/' - Place this value in the API URL input field in Mailgun's connection in Ongage.
    For EU customers the API URL is: 'https://api.eu.mailgun.net/v3'.


  3. To retrieve the API Key go to the API Security>>Mailgun API Keys>> Create New API Key>> Copy and paste in the API Key input field in Mailgun's connection in Ongage UI.


  4. Go to Domains page and click the domain you intend to use with Ongage (If you don't have a domain yet - click on "Add custom domain"):



  5. The "Domain Name" - can be retrieved from the previous screen or from the Domain dropdown list:


(Note: You may use Mailgun "Sandbox" domain credentials to verify the connection in Ongage, but it will be very limited and once you'll create a sending domain you'll have to repeat the connection setup with the new domain - Therefore it's recommended to create a verified sending domain from the beginning)

Verify your Mailgun Sending Domains

  • Every sending domain you setup in Mailgun you'll need to Verify.

  • That requires SPF and DKIM definitions for them in your DNS hosting service. 

Setting up Multiple Sending Domains in Mailgun 

 For every separate sending domain you'd like to use in Ongage, when sending via Mailgun, you'll need to setup a new domain in Mailgun and new Mailgun connection in Ongage.

  1. To setup a new Mailgun domain, enter your Mailgun account > Domains page > click on "Add custom domain"

  2. Repeat the instructions above.
