Two Factor Authentication Login

Notice: Starting January 21, 2025 2FA will be mandatory for all Ongage accounts.

Intro

  • 2FA help is an additional login security measure, on top of username and passwords, used to verify one's identity, in order to ensure that only authorized users can access your Ongage account.

  • This is an account setting, meaning it will apply to all users of a given account once set on (there is no possibility to set this on a per user basis within an account).

  • This setting is only accessible to Admin Managers.

  • API users are not affected by this change and can continue making API calls as usual.

  • See parent page for more and other Settings.

How Switch on 2FA in your Ongage Account

Once 2FA becomes mandatory this setting will no longer be available in the Account Configurations.

  1. Go to the Settings > Configurations page in your Ongage account

  2. Check "Enable 2-factor authentication for all users on this account"

How To Login Using 2FA

  1. Once switched on, then every time, one of your users attempts to login to your Ongage account (after entering their username and password), they will be displayed a 2-Factor login form:

  2. If you don’t already have, then you will need to download to your mobile phone: Google Authenticator, Authy Authenticator or any other Authenticator app out there. These apps are available for iOS and Android.

  3. Then with one of the authenticators, scan the QR code and type in the 6 digit code (this code changes every 15 seconds). You will only need to do this step once.

  4. From that point on every time you login, simply open the Authenticator app on your mobile phone, and type in the current code as it is displayed in the app.

Note: should you change or lose your phone, you will need to rescan the QR code. Resetting your password also resets the QR code as well.

  • Additionally you can reach out to Ongage Support if you need them to reset the QR code for a given user in your account.

  • Last but not least Ongage users with Admin level access, can reset 2-Factor authentication for any of the users in their account from the User Management page from the Edit user dialog box.
